November 11, 2017 – Bangkok. Constant Energy is pleased to announce that it has executed long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) with the Ampas Group of companies for its 7 manufacturing plants located in Bangpoo Industrial Estate, Thailand. Power will be supplied directly from Constant Energy rooftop-based solar PV plants located on each premise. Ampas is a leading automotive company from Thailand supplying global car manufacturers.
Franck Constant, President of Constant Energy commented: “We are very pleased to enter agreements with Ampas, a Group of companies which reflects the success, dynamism and growth of Thailand automotive industrial base in the past 4 decades. Since the beginning of the year, our company has executed several long-term PPAs, with some assets that are already operational. We look forward to investing more in Thailand, with its track record of liberalized and resilient private power sector. The corporate PPA such as these ones with high credit, stable off-takers, are a growing part of our company’s power sale business, providing long-term clients with renewable, predictable and competitive electricity.
“We are pleased to enter into these long-term agreements with Constant Energy and look forward to further enhance our sustainability efforts, and benefit from the substantially lower energy costs offered by the solar PV technology”, added Kanut Niruntasukkarut, Vice President for Ampas Industries.
“Design activities for the 7 plants have already been completed, and the licensing and permits steps are on-going. The installed solar capacity will be 4.38 MW, using top Tier 1 equipment brands. We look forward to supplying clean energy to Ampas from 2018 onwards”, added Franck Constant.
In the same industrial estate, Constant Energy financed, built and put into operation in August 2017 a first corporate solar PV plant, on time and on budget, supplying power to the Schneider Electric factory”
